From the far (from Miami) and probably very cold reaches of Canada, Gab Rhome is known for his deep, extravagantly sexy grooves, as his recent lush Electronic Groove podcast is testament to. Probably best known for his amazing, breathtakingly beautiful collab with Maher Daniel for “Farewell at the Gates of Dawn,” his prowess in channelling emotion into musical output has been made more than evident in his captivating releases spanning several years. “Shattered,” however, is a particularly dark affair, an affair I would more than love to surrender to. Hypnotically humming undertones cast an ominous vibe, the perfect backdrop for the moody vocals, almost ghostly with reverb. The lyrics are dripping with melancholy, and the main melody lends just a hint of warmth and earworm character to the somber yet extremely danceable soundscape. The appealing darkness really resonates with my singular tastes, and the richly enveloping and emotive feel makes this perfect dancefloor fuel as well.
